(Myrtle Beach, S.C.) August 21, 2013 – Nick Leitz will have not one but two races in the Tri-Star Racewear/Orion Motorsports No. 24 Limited Late Model this week as he travels from his Virginia home to South Carolina to race at Myrtle Beach Speedway Thursday and Florence Motor Speedway on Saturday.
Nick will be under the direction of veteran crew chief Ed Cox as he makes his first attempt to race at both tracks.
“We haven’t raced in a while and we were anxious to get back,” said Nick of the decision to travel South this week. “Southern National Motorsports Park got rained out last Saturday and weren’t racing our class so we decided to try some different tracks. I’m excited to be running Myrtle Beach and Florence because I know Ed has success there and Myrtle Beach has so much history to it. It should be fun!”
Talking about his season-to-date, Nick says it’s been one step forward and two steps back. “Ed has the car running well and we’ve been good in a lot of the races but I am still trying to get qualifying down and I’ve ended up starting too far back a lot of the time to end up in the front racing for top threes and wins the way I want to. We’ve also been wrecked a couple of times and that has hurt us so it’s been tough but I feel like I’m getting more comfortable being as aggressive as you need to be in these cars so we should do better going forward.”
